The travel magazine named Boston’s Public Garden — the first public botanical garden in the US — as one of the most romantic destinations in the country.

The public garden was established in 1837, but it wasn’t until 1839 when a group of horticulturalists, headed by Horace Gray, got permission to build the Botanic Garden on the site, according to the National Park Service.

Take a stroll or ride a bike through the Victorian-style Public Garden or people watch while enjoying a picnic.

The nearby Four Seasons hotel overlooks the park and was newly renovated with the theme of the garden.

You can also go on a romantic swan boat ride around the park’s lagoon as well as get married in the Public Garden, Boston Discovery Guide noted.

Many reviewers on Yelp were impressed by how beautiful the public garden looked.

“It is quite stunning,” one person said. “Plenty of spots to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset. Great people watching. Lovely statues and fountains and flowers.”

One woman stumbled upon the garden with her boyfriend while walking around the park.

“This place was gorgeous!” she exclaimed. “I found that they were kept up very well and we encountered the most friendly man selling balloons at ‘whatever price you feel!’ Excuse me what??? We are definitely not in NY anymore!”

The parks open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m., according to the Friends of the Public Garden.
